Q-Lofts

Q-Lofts is a 4 storey multi unit residential building located in the heart of Halifax’s North End.  The building is constructed using  insulated concrete forms for the exterior walls with engineered wood framed interior walls and pre-engineered wood floor trusses for the floor structure.  The wood framed structure is supported on a cast-in-place concrete structural slab which houses the buildings underground parking, storage and building mechanical and electrical systems.  The building features 71 units each with 2 storey ceilings and a loft area.  The top floor features a common penthouse complete with 2 storey high ceilings and a fitness centre.  The Penthouse is surrounded with a rooftop patio which provide a panoramic view of the city.  Q Lofts is aiming for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum Certification, the highest possible LEED certification a building can receive.
