Dalhousie University - LeMarchant Place Residence

Client:
Dalhousie University
Year Completed:
2014

Completed in 2014 with our partners at DSRA Architecture, LeMarchant Place is a state-of-the-art mixed-use building on the campus of Dalhousie University. The facility includes a 300-bed student residence primarily housed in the building’s upper levels, as well as various student health and recruitment services on the lower levels. Structurally, the building consists of a seven-story concrete frame with striking cantilevered elements designed to project over the sidewalks below. The two-story atrium on the main level provides lots of natural light to occupants by way of the floor-to-ceiling glazing and the impressive 230-foot-long skylight.

BMR’s services included design development, structural design and preparation of construction documents, detailed construction specifications, and tender & construction administration.
