The new $17.5 million Atrium – a 43,000 square foot, three-storey building located in the northwest corner of the campus – attaches to the Science, Patrick Power Library and Burke Buildings. Main features include a wireless, student-centered, barrier-free communal learning space (the Global Learning Commons) as well as space for teaching, offices and computational sciences research. Designed to strict Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards, the Atrium also consists of an interior bio-wall and a green roof.
